The Karite soaps from Savon du Midi are made in Provence in France. Palm, coconut and olive oils are used to make the basic soap. They are free from animal fats, antioxidants, preservatives or EDTA (complexing agents). The vegetable oil soaps from Savon du Midi are produced in small soap factories with the traditional expertise in the tradition of the Marseille vegetable oil soaps. The vegetable oils are from controlled organic cultivation, the fragrance is a combination of natural essential oils with perfumes. In Africa, shea butter is traditionally made from the nuts of the shea tree (Butyrospermum Parkii) (also called shea butter). Their skin-caring effect has long been known there.
