Rapunzel - Himalaya Basmati rice white - 500g

The flavourful, fluffy fragrant rice comes from the Indian states of Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh at the foot of the Himalayas. Indian farming families cultivate the traditional 'Dehradun Type 3' variety with a great deal of manual labour and effort and strictly in accordance with the 'Code of Practice on Basmati Rice'. The seed-resistant variety enables the farmers to be independent of patented seeds and hybrid seeds, as they can grow new rice plants each year from the previous year's rice. Savour the pure Basmati rice, which exudes its fine aromatic fragrance as soon as it is cooked.

Use

Very suitable for oriental and Asian cuisine, ideal as a fragrant side dish

Preparation

For 250g of rice, bring twice the amount of water to the boil, add the rice and simmer for approx. 10-15 minutes over a low heat in a covered pan. Remove from the heat and leave the rice to rest for 5 minutes. Only salt the rice after cooking.
