application
You should not carry out this treatment without the advice of an experienced Ayurveda doctor!
A Nasya treatment can be used for all diseases above the collarbone. This method is extremely effective and not only achieves quick success, but also enables permanent healing. Since the nostril is the opening to the head area, it is the best way to deliver a drug to the cranial area.
Course of the Nasya treatment- Facial massage with a warm oil - depending on the symptoms
- Inhalation with ajwain - put 1 teaspoon ground into a bowl with hot water, hold your head covered with a towel and inhale for about 10 minutes
- Use of nasal drops such as Janu Taila or Shadvindu Nasya (up to 8-16 drops per nostril - depending on the severity of the disease and the severity of the patient); it is drawn in through the nose and spat out through the mouth
- Possibly additional "pulling oil" (oil is moved back and forth in the mouth for several minutes) with sesame oil
The treatment is carried out over several days; at least on three consecutive days. It can extend to up to 14 consecutive days.
Under no circumstances should this treatment be used in the case of an acute sinus infection!
After the Panchakarma cleansing, it is important to prevent a renewed accumulation of Kapha at the weak point in the body. In this case, this includes the regular use of the oils (with one drop per nostril) over an individual period of time. For example, if someone has had hay fever or chronic sinus problems for 15 years, then the application is also necessary over a longer period of time.In our blog article "Nasya - Ayurvedic nasal cleaning and care of the nasal mucous membranes" you can find out more about the background and details of Ayurvedic Nasya treatment.
